Hands-On Treatment That Actually Gets to the Root of It.

Most pain doesn't start where it hurts. At River Elite Performance, we use skilled, hands-on techniques to find what's driving your symptoms — and treat it directly.

Manual therapy and dry needling aren't add-ons. They're core to how we work.

What Is Manual Therapy?

Manual therapy is a collection of hands-on techniques used to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve how your body functions. We draw from a full toolkit depending on what you need:

  • Joint mobilization — targeted, graded movements applied to a joint to restore range of motion and reduce stiffness

  • Soft tissue mobilization — hands-on work to address muscle tension, fascial restrictions, and areas of limited mobility

  • IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) — specialized tools used to detect and treat scar tissue, adhesions, and chronic soft tissue restrictions

  • Cupping — decompressive therapy that lifts tissue to improve circulation, reduce tension, and restore movement in restricted areas

These techniques are rarely used in isolation. We combine them intentionally, layering them with targeted exercise and movement retraining to make sure the results stick.

What Is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a technique that uses thin monofilament needles to target trigger points — hypersensitive bands of muscle that contribute to pain, tightness, and movement dysfunction.

Unlike acupuncture, dry needling is rooted in modern neuromuscular science. We use it to:

  • Release deep muscle tension that manual therapy alone can't fully reach

  • Calm overactive or inhibited muscles that are disrupting normal movement

  • Reduce referred pain patterns that seem disconnected from the actual source

  • Accelerate tissue recovery in areas that have been guarded or restricted for too long

The result is often an immediate shift in how a muscle feels and moves — which we follow up with movement work to reinforce it.

Who This Is For

  • Anyone dealing with persistent pain that hasn't responded to rest or generic treatment

  • Athletes and active individuals with soft tissue restrictions limiting performance

  • People recovering from injury who need more than exercise alone

  • Anyone who's been told to "just stretch more" — and it hasn't worked
